Metallica will be making more than just Kill 'Em All sneakers with the Vans company. That footwear is due out in March to mark the 30th anniversary of their debut album. But on October 20th, Vans will release a Metallica edition on their Half Cab pro shoe to mark the company's 20th anniversary. And in February the Metallica Passion Projects line of shoes will be released. Each member designed his own shoe for the series. Met Club members will be able to order those kicks in January.

The Queensryche saga is back in the courts again. This time the band has filed a pre-trial motion requesting that ex-singer Geoff Tate stop using the band's name until their lawsuits are resolved. The motion comes in the wake of Tate claiming that he was starting a new lineup of the band and would hit the road next year. Bassist Eddie Jackson tells Billboard, "The recent announcement of a second Queensryche lineup, upcoming tour plans and new musical direction has caused some confusion for our fans. This confusion has caused [us] to file a motion against our former vocalist to prevent him from using the name Queensryche." Queensryche are currently recording a new album with new singer Todd LaTorre.

Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl has taken to the band's Facebook page to explain why the band is taking a break. Grohl writes, "Yes, I was serious. I'm not sure when the Foo Fighters are going to play again. It feels strange to say that, but it's a good thing for all of us to go away for a while. It's one of the reasons we're still here. Make sense? I never want to not be in this band. So, sometimes it's good to just...put it back in the garage for a while."

Grohl adds, "I'll be focusing all of my energy on finishing up my Sound City documentary film and album for worldwide release in the very near future. A year in the making, it could be the biggest, most important project I've ever worked on."

Slash's next project isn't another solo album -- it's a film score.

Slash has started working on music for the film Nothing to Fear, which is the first horror film from his new production company, Slasher Films. The movie, directed by Anthony Leonardi the Third, is expected out in the second half of 2013.

Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose will give his first TV interview in 20 years this month. Rose will appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live on October 24th. He'll be taking about the band's upcoming residency at The Joint in Las Vegas, which will have them playing 12 dates from October 31st through November 24th.

Doctors in Miami released some pictures of the homeless man (Ronald Poppo) who had parts of his face chewed off during an attack by the "Causeway Cannibal".

Doctors said the victim is awake and doing well.

The photo shows the upper two-thirds of the guy's face covered in thick, bloody scabs. He's missing his nose and both eye sockets are covered, one with gauze and one with a skin graft.

His left eye is gone, it was gouged out during the attack, but his right eye is still there. Doctors said they are hopeful that he will have some vision in the future, but said it's still too early to tell.
