The Birth of 94rock Pauly...
How did I get here at the 94 Rock Morning Show? Being a 94 Rock fan and an avid morning show listener is the start. A very funny thing is TJ had me going through years of his tapes and way way in 1996 He was taking requests and he has me recorded asking for the rasta record were all working for the Japanese.."WAAAA".
Ok the story starts out back in 1997 I was listening to the morning show as always before going to my AOL job and Erica Viking was doing the fishing report for Bob Gerding and that was the days that Bob use to have a question and prize. Well Erica asked the question for the prize of a weekend stay out at Eagle Nest. The question was and Erica said, "I was to a fish show this weekend in Phoenix and the 1st person who can spell the kind of fish is the winner."
So I get through....and I know as being a fan and trying to get through on the request line is almost impossible...so I got excited and then you hear 94 Rock who is this? I said Pauly and I have the answer!!! Erica says to spell it..I say P-H-I-S-H and she says your right!!! So I win and I left my house like 5 minutes later and get to the station when it was over on San Pedro while the morning show is still on the air. So I am at the front desk and the chick says she does not have a prize sheet for me and I told her that I just won like 20 minutes ago. So the chick ask me to have a seat and I do. Erica comes out like 10 minutes later with a prize sheet and introduces herself to me. We start to jibber jabber and she asks me if I want to meet the Rainman and I said yes. I meet Rainman and we all talk and he tells me that they are looking for an intern. I said I would love to be one. Rainman asks me a few questions and I tell him other than being on the drive through mic. and karaoke mic. I really have no kind of experience. I also had my karaoke video in my car at that moment and told him they could check it out. We exchanged phone #'s and I gave him my tape. They call me back that night and said I was the kind of guy they were looking for. I thought they must need a crazy nut job!!! YEAH!!! Karaoke pays off!!! So I will tell ya all to view my karaoke cause it will make you smile and laugh you butt off!!!
