ALEX, ASHLEY AND MARK:
Have three times the fun with twins, Alex and Mark and their older sister Ashley! An expressive perfectionist, Ashley is into doing her best, no matter what the activity. Her interests range from thoughtful ones - with creative activities like writing poetry, drawing and reading - to active interests, such as going for walks, cooking and playing soccer. Like any kid her age, she is also into watching television. This sixth grader approaches school as she does everything else: not only does she have a positive attitude about it, she simply wants to do her best and is committed to her academics. Clearly her diligence has paid off, as she has recently been on the honor roll. After all, with goals like becoming a veterinarian, massage therapist, or the President of the United States, she knows she will have to work hard. Alex is active, energetic and has a good imagination. He not only has a great time playing with other kids, but his own two siblings are buddies too. Outside, he likes to bike ride, play soccer and go for walks. Alex is thinking about playing little league baseball. Quiet times are often spent watching movies and playing video games. If you are cooking for Alex, be sure and make plenty, as he has a healthy appetite. In fifth grade he likes school and benefits from an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) and speech therapy. Dual dreams are to be adopted and to be a cowboy. Brother Mark brings enthusiasm and energy to this trio of siblings. He thrives on competing and enjoys outdoor activities like riding his bicycle, playing soccer and swimming. Camping and fishing make this outdoorsman very happy. When he is hanging out at home, he likes watching movies or playing video games. In the fifth grade, he benefits from an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) and speech therapy. Besides his primary current goal of getting adopted with his siblings, his long term goals include the possibility of becoming a pilot, mechanic, plumber or engineer. All three kids are currently participating in counseling, which will need to continue after placement. Their caseworker prefers a two-parent home, but all family types will be considered. We only accept inquiries on the entire sibling group, who will be placed together. Financial assistance may be available for adoption-related services. For New Mexico children, both homestudied and non-homestudied New Mexico families are encouraged to inquire; only homestudied families from other states should do so.

During a recent Nine Inch Nails show in Las Vegas, Trent Reznor pulled out his phone and announced he was going to FaceTime somone, a fan and photojournalist named Andrew Youssef.
Andrew could not attend the show himself because, sadly, doctors told him he only had a few months left to live, after a long battle with colon cancer.
Then, Trent dedicated "In This Twilight" to Andrew after hanging up, promising to call him back after the show.

A Tennessee father was hauled off to jail after he insisted on taking his son home from school on time, rather than waiting for another half an hour under a recently implemented school rule.
Jim Howe, father of two children enrolled in South Cumberland Elementary in Crossville, Tennessee, arrived at the school on foot at dismissal time: 2:00 PM. But a new school policy states that students may only leave at 2:00 PM if their parents are picking them up in cars. Walkers must wait until 2:35 PM.
Howe maintained that the policy was meant to apply to students walking home by themselves, not students walking home with their parents.
“You don’t need a reason as a parent to go get your children,” he told school officials.
Avery Aytes, a sheriff deputy and school resource officer, was on hand to prevent Howes from leaving with his kids. The encounter between the two was captured on video by Howes’s fiancee, Jennifer Long. When Howes insisted that the new policy was illegal, the officer threatened him with jail time.
