THE GERDING'S FISHING REPORT   10/11/2012

CIMARRON RIVER – fishing fair to good on the River and fair to good at the gravel pit lakes using bait.

CONCHAS LAKE – Slow to fair but the Cannon Cove Campgrouond boat ramp is open.

EAGLE NEST LAKE – Fair to good fishing from the bank.  No reports on snagging.

PECOS RIVER – Trout fishing was good from the town up to Dalton Canyon.

RED RIVER –Good reports from below the Hatchery.

RIO GRANDE RIVER – Good reports from the Taos Junction Bridge and Pilar with afternoon may fly hatches.

CHAMA RIVER – River is dropping and should be down to 50 cfs or less by the week-end. 

FENTON LAKE – Good using bait and wooly buggers from shore.

JEMEZ WATERS – Still good reports from the Cebolla and recent reports from the Jemez River below Battleship Rock rated as good.

NAVAJO LAKE – First reports of Kokanee Salmon coming in from the Dam.  Snagging rated fair to good.  Pine boat ramp is partially closed to snagging.

SAN JUAN RIVER – Fair to good in quality water with small dry flies and streamers fished deep.

TINGLEY BEACH – freshly stocked and good reports coming in for the first time.

ELEPHANT BUTTE LAKE – Fair to good for white Bass.  Monticello and Rock Canyon boat ramps are still closed.

SUMNER LAKE – fishing slow but the boat ramps have reopened.
